Homeopathy 101

If you don’t yet know what homeopathy is, now is a great time to learn more about what the World Health Organisation (WHO) says is the fastest growing medical system globally.

Interestingly, homeopathy has been around since the late 18th Century when it was developed by a German physician by the name of Samuel Hahnemann. The principle behind homeopathy is that it is a natural treatment that works in harmony with the body’s immune system and either triggers or enhances the body’s own healing mechanisms.

It doesn’t just focus on the physical aspect of healing either; it also considers the emotional and mental aspects of well being and targets these too. It’s what could be described as a full package treatment that doesn’t just treat the physical body, but the psychological one too.

Giving you a natural boost

Homeopathy is a natural medicine and it has no side effects. This makes it ideal for use in both chronic and acute conditions, plus it can also be used as a preventative measure to keep a person healthy and out of bed. This means that you’ll have more time to spend doing the things you love, be it hiking, reading or playing the online pokies NZ has in abundance.

Homeopathy can also be used to boost a persons immune system and make them more resistant to disease, and it can be taken on an on going basis, as it cannot cause damage or have negative long term side effects.

Many infirm, elderly or those susceptible to getting sick or who have a suppressed immune system rely on homeopathy to keep them out of hospital and to give their bodies a helping hand in the mot natural way.

Like with Like

The foundation of homeopathy is to treat an illness, ailment or issue like the problem that is being posed by it. The law of similar comes in to play heavily, for example, someone who suffers from insomnia may be treated with tiny amounts of unroasted coffee or someone who suffers from red and raw eyes from allergies may be treated with onions.

This treating of like with like is said to help the body build up its tolerance and be better equipped to fight that which plagues it.

Essentially, homeopathy is designed to recreate a symptom and force the body to treat it, thus curing the ailment and ‘teaching’ the body the correct response.

All natural treatments

Homeopathic treatments are all from nature and there is nothing artificial in them whatsoever. They are derives from flora, fauna and minerals that are naturally occurring, although in some cases they may be prepared by diluting substances dramatically.

The dilution process involves succession, which is a special method of shaking, and any medicine that is prepared in this manner is said to have been potentised. This refers to the fact that the more a medicine is diluted, the more potent it becomes and this is what increases its curative powers.

It is believed that the substance imprints its energy pattern as it is diluted, and this is what serves to make it more potent than it was before.
